Family Violence Program Staff

PROGRAM DIRECTOR – The Program Director supervises the day to day management of the program.  Some of the duties include writing grants, preparing budgets, crisis counseling, supervising staff, planning and facilitating the expansion of services, and working to insure program compliance with all safety codes and applicable performance standards.

SEXUAL ASASULT PROGRAM MANAGER/COURT ADVOCATE – This dual position is one that oversees the management of the sexual assault program as well as providing court advocacy to victims of domestic and sexual violence. Some of the responsibilities for this position include completing monthly and annual statistical reports, crisis counseling with sexual assault victims, assisting victims with filing for orders of protection and court accompaniment.

SHELTER PROGRAM MANAGER – This position oversees the operation of our shelter, Harbor Safe House.  Some of the tasks for this position are supervising shelter staff, reviewing client files, completing intakes, assisting shelter residents with setting short-term goals, and taking clients to appointments.

OUTREACH SPECIALIST/COURT ADVOCATE – The person in this position provides court advocacy and services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Polk County as well as providing court advocacy to victims in Bradley County.  Some of the responsibilities for the position include assisting victims with filing for orders of protection, court accompaniment, safety planning, and answering the hotline.  This position also assists the Program Director with clerical work and reports.

SHELTER PROGRAM ASSISTANTS – The individuals in these positions work both nights and weekends at Harbor Safe House.  Some of the duties of these positions include answering the hotline, completing intakes, taking clients to appointments, crisis counseling, and assisting the Shelter Manager with sorting and distributing donations.

GROUP SPECIALIST/VOLUNTEER SUPERVISOR – The person in this position is responsible for planning for and conducting support groups, crisis counseling for domestic violence victims, screening potential volunteers and planning volunteer trainings.
